When Brian Turley decided to pursue a career in mushrooms, he had no idea that it would take him on such an amazing journey. For years, he worked as a chef in Auckland and London, but he always longed for a simpler life that would allow him more time with his young family.
The simple life
Eventually, he found himself drawn to the world of mushroom growing, and he soon became Mighty Mushrooms, a boutique gourmet mushroom grower selling fresh and pickled mushrooms at the Motueka Sunday Market.
These days, Mighty Mushrooms has grown into a thriving business with a wide variety of mushrooms. In addition to oyster mushrooms, Mighty Mushrooms now grows shiitake, maitake, and lions mane mushrooms.

Mighty Mushrooms has become a local favourite, and Brian's unique mushrooms have even been featured in some of the top restaurants in New Zealand. Thanks to Brian's passion for mushrooms, we can all enjoy the simple pleasures of this delicious food.
